St. Charles, MO, September 19, 2024

Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County (BGCSTC) is thrilled to announce that its ACT Prep Program received the Program Impact Award at the Missouri Area Council Annual Conference on September 17, 2024. This recognition celebrates the program's dedication to helping high school members improve their ACT scores and build essential college and career readiness skills.

Now in its fourth year, the ACT Prep Program was initiated by long-time volunteer Ryan Endres, an SEIT Engineer at Boeing, to provide accessible and cost-free ACT preparation. "Most private ACT prep programs are too expensive for our members," said Endres. "Our goal was to remove this barrier and make higher education more attainable."

The program is a free, 9-week initiative held at the St. Charles Unit, where members meet twice a week from early June through mid-August. Alongside ACT Prep, sessions include resume building, high school class selection guidance, and college application strategies. Members take three full-length practice tests, showing an average composite improvement of up to 4 points.

"The success of our ACT Prep Program reflects our commitment to breaking down barriers for youth in our community," said BGCSTC CEO Karen Englert. "We are grateful to our volunteers, especially Ryan Endres, and community partners for making this program possible."

The program's impact is clear, with participants achieving significant ACT score improvements, enhancing their college and scholarship prospects. The next session of the program will begin in June 2025, with plans to continue expanding its reach and positive influence in the community.
