How it works

Volunteer Requirements

At Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County we are proud of our excellent reputation as a safe haven for youth. Because the safety of our Club members is the highest priority, all eligible Volunteers who interact with Club youth must agree to a background check. The BGCSTC Community Impact Coordinator will check your status on the following:

  • Driving Record
  • National Sex Offender Registry
  • Local, State, and Federal Criminal Records

If you are seeking Group and Event volunteer opportunities, a background check may not be required.

Please note: Ongoing volunteer opportunities may be denied as a result of these checks. We do not accept volunteers referred through the court system. Some online training is required.

Background Check Permission

Individuals interested in Volunteering with Club Youth must fill out the Volunteer Packet which includes the following:

  • Volunteer Application
  • Background Check Permission Form
  • COVID-19 Waiver
  • Volunteer Handbook Acknowledgement
Download Volunteer Packet

Once your volunteer packet is completed, please email or drop off the completed packet to our administrative offices with our Community Impact Coordinator.

DO NOT EMAIL the Background Check Permission as it contains sensitive personal information. Please return this form in person.

We require that all potential volunteers read the volunteer handbook. This document will give you an overall understanding of the Clubs’ opportunities, as well as a rundown of rules that must be followed in the best interest of you, BGCSTC, and most importantly, the kids we are helping.

All volunteers must sign and return the last page of the volunteer handbook, the acknowledgement, prior to volunteering at the Club.

All individual Volunteers must complete a series of 3 training modules provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

  2. Abuse Risk Management
  3. It Happened to Me
