Since 1947, Youth of the Year (YOY) has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program. To earn the title, Club members must embody:
- Leadership and Service
- Academic Excellence
- Healthy Lifestyle
Youth of the Year
One Club member is chosen as YOY each year. High School members work all year long on this project. While it is a lot of work, the youth find the process very rewarding. Club staff and caregivers/teachers give support along the way. The annual BGCSTC Crystal Ball celebrates the YOY winner.

Junior Youth of the Year (JYOY)
JYOY develops pre-teen leaders within the Club. This program prepares young members for the high school YOY program. Club staff support members with projects throughout the year. The annual BGCSTC Crystal Ball celebrates the JYOY winner.
Youth of the Month (YOM)
YOM celebrates the growth of Club members throughout the year. Winners are chosen each month and are recognized within the Club. To learn more about this program,
