The St. Peters Rotary Garden is a welcome addition to the Healthy Habits and Positive Sprouts programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County (BGCSTC). Club members will learn how to plant, cultivate, and preserve fresh produce.
St. Peters Rotary Club has capitalized on their Community Assistance Program (CAP) by installing six 4’x12′ raised garden beds at the St. Charles Unit Location. CAP grants provide opportunities for Rotary Clubs to use Rotary Foundation District Designated Funds to undertake projects in local communities. CAP grant funds require active participation of local Rotarians. St. Peters Rotarians who worked hard to complete this project were: Terry Estes (Club President), Geoff Orf, John Otto, Jeff Hutsler, Mark Strick, Steve Brown, Steve Colaw, Brad Smith, Josh Bigham, Tim Cudd, and Jill Ike.
BGCSTC Club members will tend the garden with support from Master Gardeners from the University of Missouri Extension program. Club members will also have the opportunity to participate in their own Farmers’ Market next season, raising funds to reinvest in the program.
You are invited to join Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County and the St. Peters Rotary to dedicate this gift with a ribbon cutting on December 11, 2017 at noon.
