Celebrating a Decade of Impact: Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County Marks 10 Years at Lindenwood Avenue Facility

St. Charles, MO – June 17, 2024 – Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County (BGCSTC) proudly celebrated the 10th anniversary of its St. Charles Unit facility located at 1211 Lindenwood Avenue. Since opening its doors on June 9, 2014, this facility has been a beacon of hope and opportunity for countless children and teens in St. Charles County.

The journey of BGCSTC began in December 1955 in a modest house on Clark Street. With a growing membership and the need for expanded services, the Club relocated to 1300 Olive Street in 1962. This location served as the heart of BGCSTC for over five decades, supporting the launch of the O'Fallon Unit in 1994. The continued increase in membership and demand for services led to the capital campaign that funded the construction of the current St. Charles Unit at Lindenwood Avenue. The facility successfully opened 10 years ago just in time for Summer Camp.

Reflecting on 10 Years of Success: For the past decade, the St. Charles Unit at Lindenwood Avenue has played a pivotal role in the lives of thousands of young people. Through high-impact youth development programs, caring adult mentors, and a variety of enriching activities, BGCSTC has consistently provided a safe and supportive environment for youth to learn and grow.

During the school year, BGCSTC operates from 2:30-7 PM, providing a safe haven for children aged 5-18. Each day, Club youth receive a nutritious snack or meal, ensuring they are well-nourished and ready to engage in the day’s activities. An annual membership costs only $35 at traditional club sites and $50 at school-based sites.

The summer camp program at the St. Charles Unit and O'Fallon Unit locations has been a highlight for many families and offers a variety of activities for a weekly fee of $135. Campers enjoy breakfast, lunch, snacks, field trips, swimming excursions, water play days, and visits from inspiring guest speakers.
